Lada Khudzhiyeva Brings Clarity to the Wedding White Dress Incident | Lada’s Insights
Lada Khudzhiyeva wants to bring clarity to an incident that happened last May. My husband and I were invited to a wedding, and I wore a white dress, completely unaware that it went against traditional wedding etiquette. Unfortunately, the moment went viral online, and our actions were criticized by over 400,000 people across social media.
Many assumed that my husband and I caused this chaos intentionally to gain attention or benefit from it. In reality, the situation was harmful—not only to the bride and groom but also to us. It strained friendships and affected our reputation negatively, creating a situation I deeply regret.
Do I believe I did wrong by wearing a white dress to the wedding? Absolutely. I fully acknowledge that it was improper to disregard the community’s customs. I sincerely regret any discomfort my actions may have caused the bride, groom, and all the guests.
I am not a conflictive person—I naturally avoid creating conflict whenever possible. I would never intentionally harm anyone, yet I recognize that my choices did create chaos. For that, I offer my heartfelt apology.
While I cannot go back and change the moment I entered the wedding hall, I feel it is important to share my perspective. Even if my words may not be fully accepted, I hope my apology and reflections are heard.
